Feature comparison of web music players

Today I want to offer you a research on flash sound players for publishing to website. Actually, I did this research for myself when I needed to make a flash audio player for website. But I decided to share the results with the readers of my blog.

So, I’ve tested four flash-based sound players for website: Audio2SWF, FlashWAmp, Fun SoundPlayer Maker and SWiSH Jukebox. I’ve picked them up from the list of flash music players at download.com. I’ve examined the following parameters:

- quantity and quality of available skins for player and possibility of changing skin’s color scheme(skin design is very important for me because a mediocre design of audio player can spoil the look of my website),

- graphical user interface (is it user-friendly or not),

- available formats of result files,

- availability of “button“ player configuration (ONOFF only),

- possibility of voice recording,

- availability of using audio stream (e.g. streaming radio).

Look at the table with marks for every parameter and then read my comments:

Player's feature comparison table

Skins and GUI were estimated in a scale from 1 to 5 stars, where 5 stars is the best result. Each of the available formats was considered as 1 star. Each “+” in the next three columns- as 2 stars. The last column is the total quantity of earned stars. So, my leader is Fun SoundPlayer Maker.

That's the results of my mini-research in short. I certainly will publish the extended reviews of these four flash software soon. I hope, my table will help you to choose the most suitable flash player software. Check the reviews! And I ask you to tell me in comments what flash players you use so that I can make my research more substantial.
